Question 1

What exactly is ECU remapping?

Accepted Answer

ECU remapping is a software update for your engine’s internal computer (the Engine Control Unit). Vehicle manufacturers program engines with blanket software to suit different global climates and varying fuel standards. Remapping modifies these software parameters with custom calibration to safely unlock extra power, smoother torque, and better drivability for your vehicle.

Question 2

Will remapping damage my engine or cause extra wear?

Accepted Answer

No, provided the vehicle is mechanically sound and well-maintained. We calibrate software within safe engineering tolerances. Before carrying out any software installation, we also perform a pre-installation electronic diagnostic check to ensure your engine and drivetrain are in healthy working order.

Question 3

Will I get better fuel economy after a Stage 1 remap?

Accepted Answer

On most diesel and petrol engines, yes. By increasing low-end torque, your engine achieves cruising speed with less effort, reducing gear changes and improving MPG under normal driving conditions. Fuel consumption during enthusiastic driving will naturally reflect the extra performance used.

Question 4

What is the difference between a Stage 1 remap and Stage 2?

Accepted Answer

A Stage 1 remap is designed specifically for standard, unmodified vehicles without requiring any physical hardware changes. A Stage 2 remap delivers higher power gains but requires supporting physical hardware modifications, such as upgraded intercoolers, exhausts, or air intakes.

Question 5

Can you help commercial vehicles and fleets?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer commercial fleet remapping and van economy tuning for customers looking to improve efficiency. These services are tailored to the vehicle and the goals of the business. We cover up to 4.5 tonne.
